My family of 15 people, ages 5-80, stayed for a week at Minmore Mews and we had such a great time!! It was wonderful that every family had their own cottage and we had one cottage leftover to use as a communal space. The cottages had everything we needed for cooking and hanging out. Donal, the owner, was super accommodating and had great suggestions for what do for food and activities nearby. We had such a wonderful week at Minmore Mews! We were there for a multigenerational extended-family gathering, and it was the perfect setting for everyone. Our young grandchildren especially loved waking up each morning to explore and pet Tipsy the cat. They were also very excited to help Donal feed the cows—he was like the Pied Piper as they all set off together toward the pasture!

We also hosted a large family gathering with cousins from Dublin in the upper garden, and it was the perfect location for a celebration. Donal had excellent recommendations for an excellent butcher, a bouncy castle company and an ice cream truck to come by, and it was truly magical. In the evening, we were able to move down to the covered shed, which was a wonderful end to the day.

The accommodations are very comfortable—a perfect blend of rustic charm on the outside and beautifully remodeled, cozy interiors inside. It’s so nice for everyone to have their own space – especially with little ones.

We can’t say enough good things about how Donal runs everything. Communication was excellent leading up to our stay, and it was lovely getting to know him and chat with him while we were there. Everything was absolutely brilliant, and we will definitely return!

Minmore Mews is an amazing place! We had a group of 21 of us and each family had their own place to stay while fully enjoying the land all around for all the cousins to have fun playing on. Minmore Mews would be a 5* review on it's on but there are not enough * to accurately express how lovely Donal is and how special he makes the stay. I have never stayed anywhere with a host that was so personable or so committed to insuring everything is going well. Beyond the property he even had wonderful recommendations for us consistently. We had an amazing stay at this cottage... The location is beautiful, the rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. I can't say enough about our family's experience at Minmore Mews. Donal was a fabulous host, catering to our every need and even joining us at our family barbeque. We loved the cottages, the courtyard, the football field, the cows, the cats and the stunning views. This was a wonderful place for our family of 21 to gather and create memories. It was perfect for all the ages in our group... the youngsters, the teens, the newlyweds, the 40-somethings and the grandparents. We each had our own comfortable and private cottage with spectacular views, and there was plenty of outdoor space to congregate and run around. Our entire immediate family stayed at Minmore Mews from June 29 - July 6, 2026. There were 21 of us, split into 6 family groups. Every one of us mentioned how perfect this place was at multiple different times during the week, and how fantastic a host Donal was. I am having a hard time explaining just how amazing this cottage rental is, but I'll give it a try..

After arriving at Dublin airport, we picked up our rental car and set out on the ~1.5 hour drive to Minmore Mews using all back roads (honestly the best way to see Ireland). Upon arrival in Shillelagh, we drove up the typical Irish small back road and turned into the Minmore Mews driveway. The first view you get is a stunning overlook of the Irish farming countryside, and a quintessential Irish "Mews" style group of cottages, all stonework and iron, along with freshly cut grass.

The interiors are mostly updated with modern conveniences, but just rustic enough to feel authentic. There are flat screen TVs and dishwashers installed, but the overall aesthetic is country farmhouse.

For the complete Irish experience, spand some time with the owner, Donal (who lives on-site, so any requests are quickly fulfilled) and get the craic straight from a true local. A rare gem, you won't find a more entertaining and gracious host than him. We invited him to join in our family photos and cookouts, and he was a welcome addition to our family events.

I truly can't say enough great things about this experience, if your intention is to have a relaxing stay in the Irish countryside, this is really the best and only place to do it. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
